Mid Century Modern Remodel Ideas
Tuesday, February 28th, 2012A number of mid century modern home ideas:

- Specialty Laminate Counters – Indie Collection from WilsonArt gives your kitchen counters the look and verve of the Sixties and Fifties.
- Wide Brick Fireplaces - These fireplaces tied in perfectly with the mid-century home’s sweeping horizontals.
- Pendant Lights – Sometimes they look more Denny’s or Bob’s Big Boy, but pendant lights used sparingly can look nice in your ranch or split level renovation.
- Door Punch-Outs – Doors with flashy geometric shapes. A company called Crestview Doors sells these.
- Divider Screens – Make them…or buy them from Crestview.

How about five of them?
I don’t know of any one tool that will take off all exterior paint. I have a whole collection of tools by my side when scraping paint, and alternate between them. A heat gun will greatly speed up your paint scraping efforts. A putty knife is great for getting underneath stubborn paint. An 8-in-1 painter’s tool will scrape out cracks. A wire brush gets rid of loose paint.
